There is usually someone around who can speak some English in Taipei. If you do not find one, however, hand signals and waving and pointing should help get you on your way. There are 2 ways to stay connected to the outside world while in Taipei when it comes to networks. You could either buy a 4g Simcard of rent a 4g pocket wifi device. You’ll find them at the various airports and you could either pick up or drop off. Having an internet connection is important and could help with navigation, currency conversion and lots more.
Taiwan has Type A and Type B electrical outlets so make sure you take along the right power adapters for your devices. The electric voltage in Taipei is 110V and the standard frequency is 60Hz.
