Taipei is the capital of Taiwan and is located in the northern part of the country. It is made up of 12 districts and is the cultural, financial, and political center of the island. If you’re planning a vacation to Taiwan, we suggest that you start at Taipei. We also suggest that you let us at Geauxing Places Travel in Denham Springs, Louisiana handle the planning of your trip to Taipei for you. In the meantime, here are some tips that could help.

  • Best Time to Visit
  • Taipei’s most rainy months are from May to September and they have typhoons around June to August. We suggest you avoid those months. October to March are the best months to go in as the weather is most pleasant and dry. Spring is between February and mid-March and is the only time that you can see beautiful cherry blossoms. The year-round average temperature for Taipei is 23°C.

  • Transportation
  • Transportation in Taipei is quite easy with a metro system that is easy to understand. You could also use Uber or use a bus. With the buses, be sure to use google maps if you get a bit confused at any point. If you have plans to travel a lot, use a transportation card. They are helpful and give discounts.

  • Language
  • There is usually someone around who can speak some English in Taipei. If you do not find one, however, hand signals and waving and pointing should help get you on your way. You’ll find that many of the signs are in English as well. In the markets, the natives are friendly enough to take you where you want to go.

  • Network
  • There are 2 ways to stay connected to the outside world while in Taipei when it comes to networks. You could either buy a 4g Simcard of rent a 4g pocket wifi device. You’ll find them at the various airports and you could either pick up or drop off. Having an internet connection is important and could help with navigation, currency conversion and lots more.

  • Bring the Right Power Adapter
  • Taiwan has Type A and Type B electrical outlets so make sure you take along the right power adapters for your devices. The electric voltage in Taipei is 110V and the standard frequency is 60Hz.
